HBO released the first teaser trailer for the “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” drama series and it looks fantastic.
The series is about the Showtime Era Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s, beginning with Jerry Buss purchasing the franchise in 1979 and the team selecting Earvin Magic Johnson in the NBA Draft the same year.
John C. Riley will play Jerry Buss while Quincy Isaiah was cast in the role of Magic Johnson. Other stars involved in the show are Adrien Brody (Pat Riley), Sally Field (Jessie Buss) and Jason Clarke (Jerry West). It will premiere on March 2022.
