The rising number of coronavirus cases among NBA clubs and the increasing amount of players entering the league’s health and safety protocols have left teams extremely undermanned, thus causing the postponement of several games. And the list could be getting bigger.

The NBA announced five postponements of games: Denver NuggetsBrooklyn Nets (19/12), Cleveland CavaliersAtlanta Hawks, (19/12), New Orleans PelicansPhiladelphia 76ers (19/12), Orlando MagicToronto Raptors (20/12) and Washington WizardsBrooklyn Nets (21/12). There were previously just two game postponements in the 2021-22 season, the two matches of the Chicago Bulls vs. the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons last week.

Among the teams mentioned above, the Nets are facing the most problems since they have 10 players in NBA’s COVID-19 protocols. Stars Kevin Durant, James Harden and recent returnee for away games Kyrie Irving are among them. The Bulls had six players entering the protocols.

The Cavaliers are suffering a recent outbreak with five players testing positive for COVID-19 Sunday (19/12) and joining two of their teammates in the protocols.
