Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant had only played 12 minutes before an accidental collision and a knee injury forced him off the court in Saturday’s contest against the New Orleans Pelicans.

In the second quarter of the game, Durant fell to the floor after teammate Bruce Brown collided with a driving Herbert Jones and stumbled upon the 11-time All-Star.

Following the incident, Durant was helped back on his feet while he walked off the court on his own and asked to be removed from the game. Nets‘ head coach Steve Nash told reporters after the game that Durant will undergo an MRI scan to determine the severity of the injury.

“Of course it would be tough to lose him,” Nash commented. “No one wants to see that and we’ll obviously hope for the best outcome, but regardless of the outcome we have to continue to work, build and grow and get better and compete.”

Durant is having a stellar season with the Nets, with a league-best average of  a league-leading 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game, while shooting 52% from the field.
