The Sacramento Kings have agreed with Golden State assistant Mike Brown on a four-year contract to become the franchise’s next coach, according to ESPN.

Naturally, Brown will finish the ongoing playoff run with the Warriors before moving on to his duties in Sacramento. The Warriors are currently up 2-1 against the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference semifinals.

Once Brown takes over the Kings, his goal is clear – to end the longest playoff drought in NBA history and return the Kings to the postseason for the first time in 16 years.

Brown has eight seasons of head-coaching experience and nearly two decades of assistant coaching under Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr.

He holds a 347-216 (.616) record as a head coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers and LA Lakers. Brown was named the NBA’s Coach of the Year in 2007 when he led the Cavs to the Final where the LeBron James-led squad was swept by the San Antonio Spurs.
