Bam Adebayo has played for the Miami Heat in his entire career so far and, ideally, he’d like to continue doing so until he hangs his shoes.

Adebayo, currently hosting his annual youth basketball clinic in Kendall, Florida, has become quite attached to the community of Miami since he began his first basketball footsteps in 2007 at 20 years of age.

Per the Miami Herald:

“While some of it is out of Bam Adebayo’s control, he hopes to spend his entire NBA career with the Heat like Udonis Haslem has. “If I could, I would,” said Adebayo, who is due $30.4 million next season in the second year of a five-year, $163 million max contract extension he signed with the Heat in 2020. “Just to have that opportunity to be around this community for my whole career. A lot of the community has seen my grown up. Going from a random 14th draft pick to being a cornerstone in this organization and to become something bigger. It’s just one of those things that’s dope when people grow with you.”

Adebayo wants to do it kinda like Udonis Haslem. The latter has been with the Heat since 2003 after spending the first year as a pro in France with Chalon Saone.

In 2007, the Heat selected Adebayo with the 17th overall pick in the NBA Draft. He had his breakthrough season in 2019-2020 when he was named an All-Star and made his first of three consecutive appearances in the All-NBA Third Team.
