Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green may be spending his last season with the franchise. According to ESPN‘s Stephen A. Smith, Green is “expecting” that he won’t continue in Oakland and that his preferred destination – if he indeed leaves the team – are the Los Angeles Lakers.

Golden State‘s got to re-sign two people. Three people are looking to get re-signed. Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green. I can tell you right now that Wiggins and Poole are a priority. I can tell you right now that Draymond Green is expecting this to be his last year in Golden State. He wants to be a Laker. He ain’t telling anybody that, but don’t think I don’t know. He’d prefer to be a Laker if he’s got to leave Golden State.”

Green is currently under a four-year contract extension that expires in 2024, if he opts in next summer

Green’s future with the Warriors looks hazy also in light of his attack on Jordan Poole. After reports that there was an altercation between the two players during practice, a video was leaked where Green is shown violently punching Pool and throwing him to the floor.

While the Warriors general manager Bob Myers said that the club will handle the matter “internally” and, so far, it looks that there isn’t going to be any suspension, it has been reported that Golden State players are expecting some form of disciplinary action.

Warriors big man Kevon Looney said that Green, “has got some work to do to get that trust back from us, but I think he’s willing to do it,” ”
