Iowa State product Marial Shayok is set to come back to the NBA and sign for the Boston Celtics after two seasons in Europe, according to Keith Smith.

The Canadian shooting guard, who had a last impressive NCAA season with the Cyclones in 2018-19, was selected with the 53rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, but he only had four appearances with them averaging 2.8 points per game.

After showing off his offensive talent in the G-League with the Delaware Blue Coats, where he averaged 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in 35 appearances, he moved to Europe to play first with Bursaspor and then with Fenerbahce.

In the second half of the 2020-21 season, rocking the green-and-white jersey, he was one of the best players in the Turkish league, averaging 18.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists with Bursaspor. However, when he decided to move to the EuroLeague, however, he found a disappointing year with Sasha Djordjevic’s Fenerbahce. In 15 EuroLeague games, he had 4.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per night.
