Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is quite likely to exercise his $27.5 million option for 2023-24 next summer, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wojnarowski said that Green’s case isn’t necessarily related to the recent contract extensions that Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole signed and that the former DPOY can also get a deal to stay with the Warriors long-term.
“For Draymond Green with that $27.5 million option for next season. Almost assuredly he’s going to exercise that…Two years left on his deal. There can be room for an extension at the end of those two years, or a new deal that probably is south of that $27.5 million. Maybe isn’t a raise off of that. But if the Warriors are winning and Draymond is still a highly productive player and wants to be there, I don’t think it means that his days are necessarily numbered in Golden State.”

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Green’s future with the Warriors in the aftermath of his attack on Poole. It was reported that the three-time champion expecting this to be his last year in Oakland and that he looks to join the Los Angeles if he parts ways with his current club.
