The Sacramento Kings announced that forward Chima Moneke was waived by the club. Moneke had signed a two-year partially guaranteed contract with the Kings last summer after finishing 2021-22 as the MVP in the Basketball Champions League.
Moneke, 26, appeared in two NBA games averaging 4.0 minutes. He played two matches in the G League with the Stockton Kings where he got more playing time (28.2 minutes) to score 7.5 points and grab 7.0 rebounds.
In 2022, Moneke was named MVP of the Basketball Champions League after posting 13.9 points, 6.3 rebounds with BAXI Manresa. His team made the Final of the competition.
