Kristaps Porzingis got injured during the Washington Wizards’ win against Orlando Magic and have been listed as a week-to-week after spraining his left ankle.

A big blow for the Wizards since the Latvian big man is having a terrific season, but lately, rumors have emerged about his future with the club.

As Marc Stein reports, there is a strong possibility of Porzingis declining the player option in his contract and becoming a free agent.

He’s averaging 22,1 points and 8,8 rebounds this season and earning over 33.800.000 dollars in the fourth year of his five-year contract worth 158.300.000 dollars.

Early indications are that he will not opt for a fifth year and will look for a long-term deal in the offseason.

Still, remaining with the Wizards is viable, as Stein adds that Kristaps likes his situation in the nation’s capital.
