On the latest NBA Night, the Los Angeles Lakers managed to book their ticket for the playoffs following the Play-In 108-102 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Dennis Schroder was a real protagonist of the yellow-and-purple victory, banking him what looked like a game-winning three with 8.4 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and contributing with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 8/8 FT.

In the post-game press conference, head coach Darvin Ham spoke about him. “The heart, his competitive spirit, just his ability to make big plays and take tough matchups in the biggest of moments. His attitude, his confidence. He’s unbelievable, extraordinary and he lives for those types of moments”, he commented on his player.

“Early in the year, he got hit in the corner on the same similar shot late in the game. I can’t remember exactly who we were playing but I do remember the play. The pass might have come from Bron as well. He missed that shot. But to see him knock it down. He’s going to do everything with confidence offensively, defensively, ask for the toughest matchup. It’s Dennis. It’s classic Dennis. We’re fortunate that he’s on our team”, he added.

Anthony Davis, who committed a foul on Mike Conley that could have cost the German point guard’s game-winning three-pointer, talked about his attitude. “He’s invaluable. He brings everything every night. He wants to win. When he first came back he said that he didn’t like his first tenure here with the Lakers. He felt like he didn’t do what he was supposed to. He wanted to come back and just be all about winning”, the former New Orleans Pelicans superstar said on Dennis Schroder.

The 29-year-old himself spoke about that shot following the win. “In the middle of the season, I had the same shot and I missed it from the same spot. This time I was very confident. Just let it go, LeBron trusted me. It’s playoffs time, I’m ready and we are all ready”, the German point guard said minutes after the end of the game.

Dennis Schroder, who came back to the Los Angeles Lakers after getting the bronze medal with Germany at EuroBasket 2022, has been averaging 12.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game with the Californian franchise.
