Ratopharm Ulm’s talented Spanish playmaker Juan Nunez elected not to enter the 2023 NBA Draft, as ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reports.

One of Spain’s brightest talents left Real Madrid last summer to sign a three-year deal with the German team Ulm.

The 18-year-old player is having a strong season in BBL and EuroCup, and as Givony declares, he could emerge as a first-round pick in 2024.

Nunez is averaging eight points, four assists, and 3,4 rebounds in the German championship and 7,6 points with 4,4 assists and 3,2 boards in EuroCup for Ulm.

The German side lost to Turk Telekom in the EuroCup quarterfinals, with Nunez scoring 16 points in Ankara. He will most likely be a part of a play-off in BBL, as Ulm is seventh in the standings with a 15-14 score.

Born in Madrid, Nunez joined Real Madrid‘s youth ranks in 2015. In 2021 he won the EuroLeague Next Generation Tournament with the junior team of the Whites, and he debuted on June 6 2021 for the first team in the ACB semi-final win against Valencia.

He occasionally played last season for Real’s senior team in Euroleague and ACB, but last summer opted for a bigger role in Ulm.

Recently, Baskonia’s Ousmane N’Diaye entered his name in the NBA Draft 2023.
