The first blockbuster trade of the 2023 NBA offseason is happening. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns are finalizing a deal that will bring them guard Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards while giving guard Chris Paul, among other assets, in return.

As Wojnarowski reports, Landry Shamet, several second-round Draft picks and pick swaps are also included in the trade.

The Suns had been reported to be exploring options in which they would waive Paul or trade him and receive an All-Star caliber player in return. With Beal, Phoenix adds even more firepower next to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to form a Superteam that can compete for the championship.

This is quite the chance of scenery for Beal since he had spent the entirety of his career so far with the Wizards since the club selected him with the third overall pick in 2012. Throughout his run in Washington, he was named an All-Star in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Last season, Beal averaged 23.2 points, 5.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds while playing 50 games due to hamstring problems.
