At one point, it seemed that Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk might continue his career in Europe, with Panathinaikos reportedly interested in his services. However, the Ukrainian swingman is expected to stay, at least for another year, in the NBA.

Shams Charania from The Athletic reported that Mykhailiuk has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics.

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Mykhailiuk as the 47th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he stayed only for a year in California before moving to Detroit. The Ukrainian player also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Toronto Raptors and started the last season with the New York Knicks but finished it with the Charlotte Hornets.

In 252 regular season appearances, he averaged 6.6 points and 1.8 rebounds but recorded 10.6 points with 2.7 assists in 19 games for the Hornets last year.

He played for two years in his native Ukraine at the beginning of his career but moved to the USA in 2014 to play college basketball with Kansas and never returned to Europe. This summer looked like a chance for that, but as it seems, Mykhailiuk will continue to fight for his place in the NBA, this time in the Boston Celtics jersey.
