James Harden may want out of the Philadelphia 76ers, having openly expressed his frustration with club president Daryl Morey but the organization won’t be making any hasty move to trade the star player, regardless of what his attitude may be.

According to a report by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Morey is “unlikely to allow Harden’s behavior to force his hand to make a trade,” taking into account that Sixers coach Nick Nurse may give the former MVP’s starting position to Tyrese Maxey. Something that may not sit well with Harden.

The Inquirer also mentions that the Sixers want to avoid making a deal simply to end any potential Harden drama and allow the franchise to move on past him.

“We’re working with his representation to resolve that in the best way for the 76ers and, hopefully, all parties,” Morey mentioned on Harden during the Sixers’ Media Day. The Sixers still hope that Harden may commit to spending the upcoming season with the team and help the effort for a potential championship run.

Harden has been reported to specifically prefer the Los Angeles Clippers to be his next team. There have been talks between the two clubs but nothing close to a deal.
