Entering the umpteenth season of his 11-year career in the NBA, the second straight alongside Karl-Anthony Towns with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the 31-year-old center Rudy Gobert is feeling better than ever in the past, even more than his young Utah Jazz days.

After going out earlier than expected with the French national team from the 2023 FIBA World Cup, he said to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski that he feels in his best shape ever. “Not even my old self. I feel better than I’ve ever felt because I feel like I’m stronger than I’ve been. The experience that I have now, you add that to the rest of the abilities that I have, I think that’s the best that I’ve been”, he commented on himself.

Closing last year by averaging 13,4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game with 65.9% from the field on 7.8 attempts, he opened the 2023-24 Regular Season with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds in the 97-94 loss against the Toronto Raptors.
