Potentially dropping a third straight game to launch the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season was not an option for the Atlanta Hawks.

Serbian shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic helped get to 1-2 with 17 points in Fiserv Forum on Sunday.

“It feels great, of course,” he commented on the win after the NBA Sunday’s contest, “It gives us another level of motivation to work on our things, our game. Not enough time to rest and enjoy. Another game tomorrow.”

Returning home to complete the back-to-back, the Hawks will welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves in State Farm Arena on Monday.

“Sacrifice and help others”

Bogdanovic, 31, made 6/10 field goals in Milwaukee. Dishing out six assists boosted a balanced scoring display.

“Most of the guys on this team, they can score, take the ball and just go and score 30 points. Just off skill and talent,” he described the Hawks, “We know we need to sacrifice in that way, not just sacrifice and be passive, but sacrifice and help others, put them in a better position, look for that better option. That is going to come with practice, games, and with experience.”

“Nobody likes to lose,” added the Belgrade native, “We did not want to start the season 0-3.”

At the top of his fourth campaign in Atlanta and seventh overall in the league, Bogdanovic is averaging 13.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 rebounds per contest in a reserve role under the guidance of Quin Snyder.
