Turkish EuroCup club Besiktas tried to sign free agent Furkan Korkmaz and met with the player but he informed them that he’s looking to return to the NBA.

According to Orta Giris, Korkmaz traveled to Istanbul and met with Besiktas general manager Umut Tahir Gunes. The 26-year-old Turkish wing expressed his desire to continue his career in the NBA.

Korkmaz is expected to go back to the USA on Saturday.

Earlier in February, Korkmaz was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Indiana Pacers, moving from Philly after spending all of his seven seasons in the NBA with the team. The Pacers waived him the following day.

Korkmaz had been reported to request the trade himself. He was averaging 2.5 points over 8.6 minutes, his lowest scoring output and lesser playing time since his rookie year in 2017-18.

During his NBA career so far, Korkmaz is averaging 6.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 328 games.
