Talking to International media before the All-Star Weekend, one of the most anticipated moments of the whole season, Mark Tatum spoke about the future of the organization.

As reported by SDNA, the No.2 face of the organization right behind the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver revealed that they aren’t looking towards an expansion. “Right now we don’t have any plans for expansion. I will tell you what Adam Silver, the Commissioner has said is that before we think about expansion, we want to get our collective bargaining agreement done with the players – which we’ve done now. And we want to get our media deals done, which we’re currently negotiating. So we’re in the middle of really towards the end of our exclusive negotiating window which ends the spring. And we have the rest of the season and one more season left on our domestic media deals,” he commented.

“And so we said we’re not gonna focus on expansion until those two things get done, and then we may look at whether or not we expand,” Mark Tatum said.

As of now, therefore, there won’t be more than 30 teams within the best basketball league in the world. “We haven’t decided whether or not we’re going to expand yet, it’s just not on the immediate horizon. But at some point, the natural order of leagues as you’re doing well is to grow. And I think at some point we’ll revisit it and look at whether or not that makes sense,” Mark Tatum finally stated.
