With Mac McClung making history, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant making mention of dunk contest participations on their social media

Mac McClung is dominating the NBA All-Star Game Dunk Contest, after his three-peat and that may be enough motivation for top NBA stars to return to the contest.

“Mac might make me decide to dunk”, wrote Ja Morant and Giannis Antetokounmpo soon replied, “If you do it, I’ll do it with you”.

If something like this happens, then the Dunk Contest will become again a marquee event, after losing a lot of its glamour in recent years, with top players not willing to participate.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did participate back in 2015 when he was still on the rise and didn’t have the status he enjoys today, while Ja Morant despite being one of the most spectacular in-game dunkers, never tried the contest.

The former Rookie of the Year also reached out on X to former dunk contest stars Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon, who gave the NBA world two unforgettable All-Star Weekend matchups.
