During the All-Star break of the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, Anthony Edwards was asked about the blockbuster trade involving Luka Doncic.

Following the agreement between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, he was vocal about the trade, wondering how the Mavs decided to part ways with the leading player of the franchise.

Edwards, 23, added to reactions by addressing rumors about weight problems of the Slovenian sensation leading him to the exit from Dallas.

“240 pounds,” the Minnesota Timberwolves star answered a question about the heaviest he has been during the offseason, “I hope they ain’t trade me when I was 240.”

“He didn’t look 270 to me,” he added on the reported weight of Doncic, “He averages 30 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds. I don’t give a damn if you’re 300 pounds. You’re fine with me.”

Doncic, 25, tallied 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest over 22 appearances with the Mavericks in the ongoing Regular Season, before putting up 15.0 points per game over two appearances to start his stint with the Lakers.

Bouncing back from the All-Star break, he will be playing without restrictions on his playing time. The upcoming schedule for the team coached by JJ Redick features a clash with the Wolves in crypto.com Arena next Thursday, following a home game against the Mavs on Tuesday.

As for Edwards, he sat out the 74th annual All-Star Game due to a groin injury but is expected to be cleared to play versus the Houston Rockets in Toyota Center, to launch the bottom end of the regular-season schedule on Friday.
