Exactly 77 days after Luka Doncic got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks are officially out of contention for the NBA Playoffs, as they lost in the final game of the Play-Ins.
Facing the Memphis Grizzlies on the road, Jason Kidd’s team couldn’t succeed as they suffered a 120-106 defeat. Therefore, the hosts advanced to the Playoffs and secured the 8th seed, facing the Oklahoma City Thunder in the First Round of the Western Conference.
Santi Aldama also contributed to Memphis’ victory, coming off the bench to drop 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Grizzlies.
On the other side, Anthony Davis had a monster night as the leader of the team with 40 points and 9 rebounds, but he was forced to leave the court with what looked like a right calf injury.
“An incredible season, but the change [of the trade] and injuries, some would say we shouldn’t even be there. So give those guys in that locker room a lot of credit,” Jason Kidd commented.
