Mouhamed Faye submitted the necessary paperwork to declare for the 2025 NBA draft.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported the news on Sunday.
Following a similar path to Nolan Traore, who recently confirmed his intentions to move from the Basketball Champions League and Saint-Quentin to the annual draft of the league based in North America, Faye can also add to an extensive list of promising upstarts coming out of the top-tier club continental competition of FIBA Europe.
Vlatko Cancar, Ariel Hukporti, Ognjen Jaramaz, Alpha Kaba, Vit Krejci, Arnoldas Kulboka, Yam Madar, Vanja Marinkovic, Frank Ntilikina, Yannick Nzosa, Tidjane Salaun, Luka Samanic, Issuf Sanon, Alperen Sengun, and Marko Simonovic are all players with a direct link between the Champions League and the NBA draft.
Introducing his impressive wingspan in the BCL after withdrawing from early entrants to the 2024 draft, the 20-year-old Senegalese center logged 15 appearances in the 2024-25 installment of the league, tallying 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 0.4 steals, and 0.3 assists per contest with UnaHotels Reggio Emilia.
Following elimination from continental competition, his season is still alive through Italy’s LBA UnipolSai. Over 27 appearances in his second professional campaign, he has averaged 10.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 0.6 steals, and 0.4 assists per contest.
Representing Senegal, Faye played in the FIBA U18 African Championship 2022.
In 2023, he expanded his development to suiting up for the Next Generation Team in the Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament, now called NextGen EuroLeague.
