With the Boston Celtics getting eliminated from Championship contention by the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, the season is also over for Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis.
The American all-arounder spoke about his Latvian teammate in the post-game press conference after losing 4-2 in the series to the New York Knicks. “He has been a large part of our recent success, last year, even going into this year,” he started about Porzingis.
“In the playoffs, he wasn’t feeling his best, but we appreciate him getting out there. KP is a tough guy. He has a great mentality, a great approach about his self, his game, and his body.”
“It’s a tough process for everybody, but from an injury perspective, he was available all year long. He helped us all year long, and it was unfortunate it ended this way,” Brown ended on Porzingis.
Boston Celtics‘ star also elaborated more broadly on his team getting eliminated by the Knicks. “It wasn’t our year, because we lost. Battling through injuries, we had ups and downs. I’m proud of our guys; they came out and fought. Tonight it was unfortunate, and it sucks,” he said.
“We’ll see what the next steps are. We have to sit back and figure it our. But I’m excited, things ain’t going our way this year, but we hold our heads up regardless.”
“Losing to the Knicks feels like death, but I was always taught that there’s life after death. We’ll get ready for whatever’s next. Whatever’s next in the journey, I’ll be ready for,” Brown also commented.
