Among the main storylines of the offseason, the latest update regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo hints that the Freak intends to request a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks to a specific team.
Heading to a meeting with the front office, the 30-year-old point forward will direct the Bucks to send him to his preferred location, as reported by Eric Pincus of the Bleacher Report, citing several agents polled during the recent NBA combine in Chicago.
Giannis is reportedly open-minded about a potential move away from Milwaukee. Despite rumors surrounding his future, a potential new destination remains unclear, alongside an exact date for projected discussions with the Bucks about the future of the franchise. His focus is apparently on getting a realistic chance to contend for an NBA championship and double up after the triumph in 2021.
His contract lasts until the end of the 2026-27 season with a player option for the 2027-28 season. After the 2025-26, the native of Athens will be eligible to sign a new four-year contract extension, worth 293.4 million dollars, with the Bucks or with a potential new team.
In his 12th NBA journey with the Bucks, Giannis went from 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 0.9 steals per contest over 67 appearances in the 2024-25 Regular Season to 33.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game through the series versus the Indiana Pacers in the opening round of the 2025 Playoffs presented by Google.
