The final score was 118-103, season MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 38 points, and the Oklahoma City Thunder had an easy night against the Minnesota Timberwolves again, winning 118-103 to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.
“I feel like all my emotions were so high, but I was a little bit tired out there, especially at the start,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “I was a little too juiced up. Special moment. I’m happy we won so I can really enjoy the last couple days and soak it up. That really helps.”
Jalen Williams had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Chet Holmgren added 22 points for the Thunder.
German big man Isaiah Hartenstein finished the game with six points and eight rebounds, on par with Frenchman Rudy Gobert who had five points and nine rebounds for Minnesota.
Anthony Edwards scored 32 points, Jaden McDaniels had 22 points and Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 17 for the Timberwolves, as the Wolves will have the chance to tie the series at home, even if this seems like a really hard task.
With five straight points in the last 16 seconds of the first half, Shai put up Oklahoma City by eight (58-50) and it was downhill for the Wolves after that.
“We didn’t close the half very well,” Minnesota coach Chris Finch said. “I thought if we close the half better then we don’t put ourselves on such a razor edge in the third.”
