Karl-Anthony Towns had a stellar fourth season, scoring 20 of his 24 points, and New York, despite trailing by 20 points, got the 106-104 comeback road win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals.
“It’s a true test when you’re down 20-plus,” Towns said, who also got 15 rebounds. “Tonight was the kind of night where he had to have that never-say-die attitude.”
New York still trails in the series 2-1, but avoided being on a 3-0 hole, despite a bad start in the game and Jalen Brunson in foul trouble.
British forward OG Anunoby added 16 points for the winning side.
Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 20 points and six assists. Myles Turner added 19 points as Indiana dropped to 0-4 all-time when playing on the same day the Indianapolis 500 was run.
