The Boston Celtics are reportedly considering trade options for Kristaps Porzingis as they look to manage salary cap pressure ahead of next season.
According to HoopsHype, several NBA executives believe the team will explore potential moves involving the Latvian center, who is owed $30.73 million and remains under contract through the 2025–26 campaign.
“Boston needs to get off two big salaries at least, or they’ll have massive tax implications,” one NBA executive told HoopsHype. “Tatum’s injury lets them use next year as a gap year to audition other players or young guys.”
Porzingis was a key contributor during the Celtics’ championship run but was recently limited in the playoffs due to an unspecified illness.
With luxury tax concerns looming, Boston may evaluate trade scenarios involving the 28-year-old big man as part of a broader effort to adjust its roster and finance.
