As the series moved to Indianapolis, the Pacers enjoyed the support from their crowd in their first NBA Finals in 25 years, and won 116-107 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They’re up 2-1 now.
Tyrese Haliburton was once again close to a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists. Bennedict Mathurin led in scoring with 27 points.
“So many different guys chipped in. We just had guys make plays after plays. Our bench was amazing,” Indiana’s leader commented after getting the win in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
“This is the kind of team that we are. We need everybody to be ready. It’s not always going to be exactly the same guys that are stepping up with scoring and stuff like that. But this is how we’ve got to do it,” head coach Rick Carlisle also commented.
On the Oklahoma City Thunder‘s roster, three players stepped up: Jalen Williams (26 points and 6 rebounds), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists) and Chet Holmgren (20 points and 10 rebounds.)
Game 3 will be played on Saturday night at 02:30 CET, with the Indiana Pacers which could go up 3-1, being as close as possible to their first-ever NBA Championship.
