Kevin Durant is heading to the Houston Rockets in a major trade that will be finalized on July 6, according to ESPN.
The Phoenix Suns will receive Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th overall pick in this year’s draft, and five second-round picks in return.
Durant joins a rising Rockets team led by coach Ime Udoka, All-Star center Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, and Fred VanVleet. Houston was one of Durant’s preferred destinations, along with Miami and San Antonio.
The 37-year-old forward averaged 26.6 points last season and continues to be one of the league’s most efficient scorers, making over 50% of his shots and nearly 41% from three.
