The Miami Heat have acquired Italian forward Simone Fontecchio from the Detroit Pistons in a sign-and-trade deal that sends Duncan Robinson the other way, reports Shams Charania.
As part of the agreement, Robinson has signed a new three-year, $48 million contract with Detroit.
Fontecchio, who turns 30 in December, joined the NBA in 2022 with the Utah Jazz before being traded to Detroit. In 75 games last season, he averaged 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds, shooting 33.5% from three-point range.
He now joins a Miami team looking to reload its rotation with shooting and size on the wing.
