After winning the NBA Championship, Chet Holmgren has now reportedly secured a five-year maximum rookie contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
According to Shams Charania from ESPN, the Gonzaga Bulldogs alumni’s deal with the franchise “could reach $250 million.”
In the 2024-25 season, the 23-year-old sensational forward put up 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 49.0% from the field and 37.9% from beyond the arc.
He was selected with the 2nd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft but got injured later in the summer during an event in Seattle, and had to miss the whole 2022-23 campaign.
This season, he missed three months during the season because of a hip injury, returning in February to strengthen Oklahoma’s ultimate part of the campaign, and finished with the first title in the team’s history.
