The photo of LeBron James and his longtime business partner, Maverick Carter, meeting Misko Raznatovic, the biggest agent in Europe, according to the number of his EuroLeague deals, created a lot of speculation, especially among US media.
After all, Raznatovic is also the European agent of Nikola Jokic, and automatically, a meeting that involved the “King” was bound to produce a lot of rumors, because LeBron is becoming a free agent next season.
Still, this might not be the reason behind this meeting.

Raznatovic closed the season with a total of 46 EuroLeague players, among them some of the biggest names outside the NBA, and that’s why this meeting might be something far more interesting concerning the future.
As it’s already reported, Maverick Carter is an adviser to a group of investors seeking to raise $5 billion to form an international basketball league that would serve as a rival to the NBA.
Per ESPN, this league will consist of six men’s teams and six women’s teams, playing games around the world. So it makes all the sense in the world for Carter and LeBron James to meet with a dominant agent outside the NBA landscape.
And while there’s no confirmation about anything yet, what Raznatovic wrote on his IG account – “The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026” – may be referring to the tip-off of the new project.
It remains to be seen if that’s the case and if the new league will be operational before the NBA Europe endeavor.
