Victor Wembanyama is eager to welcome invigorated supporters for home games of the San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center.

On Tuesday, the Spurs announced plans for tryouts with Wemby in attendance on Sunday, opening registration for interested individuals to become ‘the loudest, proudest, and most relentless crew’ in a dedicated supporter section.

“It’s been an idea. And now it’s a project,” said the 21-year-old French center, describing his goal to strengthen home-court advantage for the Spurs, inspired by fans from his home country and the rest of the world.

“If this group of ultras reaches its full potential, I have no doubt that it’s going to help us win games in the future for sure,” he added, “The 41 regular season games at home this season, that’s 41 opportunities for them to push in the fourth quarter and give us that extra energy and that second wind that can give us the win.”

The new group of Spurs supporters, expected to participate in chants to ‘bring the noise’ fully, will feature a specific name upon completion of tryouts and selections.

A veteran of 117 NBA appearances, Wembanyama has been medically cleared for approaching training camp and the ensuing 2025-26 Regular Season, after a season-ending illness and a premature end to his 2024-25 journey, also leading to being ruled out from EuroBasket 2025. The top draft pick in 2023 ended up with 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per contest over 46 games last season.
