NBA teams are holding Media Day ahead of the 2025/26 training camps, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was unable to attend the session with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Greek star is still in Greece because he hasn’t been able to travel due to COVID-19 restrictions.

I’m just waiting for a negative test, so I can leave my house and get on a plane and travel. I don’t want to put anybody at risk,” Giannis said via video call, per Eric Nehm.

The star forward also addressed reports about evaluating his future this summer.

The same thing I’ve been saying my whole career. I want to be on a team that allows me and gives me a chance to win a championship… it is never going to change. I want to be among the best.”

Bucks owner Wes Edens previously mentioned a conversation with Giannis back in June.

I had a great conversation with Giannis back in June out here, where he was very committed to Milwaukee. He likes being here. He likes his family being here.”

Giannis couldn’t recall that specific meeting, but he reaffirmed his confidence in the organization and its championship potential.

I believe in my teammates. I believe in the people around me. I believe in the moves [the organization] makes,” Antetokounmpo added per Bucks Lead.

On the recent addition of Myles Turner to the roster, Giannis said:

He’s one of the bigs that we can fit so well together. He’s one of the best bigs in the league….So, I’m very excited for him. I think that was an incredible move.”
