After a delay to join the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA Preseason 2025, Giannis Antetokounmpo is traveling to Miami to join his teammates in the ongoing training camp.

The 30-year-old point forward tested positive for COVID-19 and remained in Greece until being medically cleared.

Last season, the Freak tallied 30.6 points and 12.2 rebounds per contest over 72 appearances between the 2024-25 Regular Season and the 2025 Playoffs presented by Google. Bouncing back in EuroBasket 2025 with the senior national team of Greece, he averaged 27.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per contest over seven appearances en route to a bronze medal and a spot in the All-Star Five.

In Miami, the team coached by Doc Rivers will continue practicing up to the preseason opener versus the Miami Heat in Kaseya Center on Monday.

From there, the Bucks continue against the Detroit Pistons in Fiserv Forum, the Chicago Bulls and United Center, and the Oklahoma City Thunder in Fiserv Forum, before starting the 2025-26 Regular Season with the Washington Wizards visiting Milwaukee on October 22.

The next season will be the 13th year for Giannis with the franchise based in Wisconsin. Back in 2013, a largely unknown draft candidate was selected by the Bucks with the 15th overall pick. Establishing himself among the household names in the league based in North America, he went on to win an NBA championship in 2021 as the Finals Most Valuable Player, following season MVP nods in 2019 and 2020.
