In a recent appearance on Inside the NBA on ESPN, Charles Barkley delivered his view on the developing situation between Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
With the 30-year-old point forward confessing to possibly considering other options after the 2025-26 season, the 62-year-old former player rejected this type of approach.
“As a great player, you should feel like, ‘I’m a great player. If I get any help, we’re going to win.’ And you’ve got to give the Milwaukee Bucks credit. I wish a person loved me as much as the Bucks love Giannis. I really do. They went out and got him Dame Lillard. They went out and got him Myles Turner. They have done everything possible to try to make the Bucks win again. So the notion that he doesn’t feel like they’re doing everything in their power? Man, they have done everything. Seriously, I want someone to love me as much as the Bucks love Giannis. I mean it,” said Barkley.
“It’s unfortunate he feels like he’s entitled to win the championship every year,” he added on the former NBA champion in 2021, “Everybody wants to win the championship. But the Bucks have done everything they possibly could. It’s disheartening for me to hear him thinking like, ‘If we don’t win a championship this year, I want to be out of here’. I hate hearing that.”
Giannis is entering his 13th season in the league based in North America, remaining loyal to the Bucks since he was drafted with the 15th overall pick in 2013.
