Giannis Antetokounmpo gave his first interview in a non sports media in Greece and once again repeated that he envisioned himself closing his career in his native country.

Giannis spoke on the “2night show”, a Greek copycat of US late-night shows, and he was again very specific about the end of his career.

As he said: “I’m 30 years old, I can play in the NBA until I’m 36-38. I would like to end my career with a Greek team, why not? I don’t want to live in America. As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece. I could end my career here, whether this team is called Filathlitikos, or Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Aris, I’m talking about all the teams now.”

Giannis also talked about his desire to raise his family in Greece – even though the recent reports about his wife and children moving to Athens are not true – and talked about his family and wife, Mariah.

Speaking about her, Giannis explained how his mother approved of her, and that was one of the keys to the marriage.

“Mariah was my first girlfriend and I married her,” he said, “If my mother had said ‘Giannis, this is not the girl for you’, I would have opened the door and asked her to leave.”

“She is the woman of my life,” he continued, describing his relationship with Mariah, “She has given me my children, which is the most beautiful gift. I am fine with four; if God is good to us, we may go for a fifth.”

The Greek Freak also revealed that initially Mariah pushed off his flirting, but he insisted.

“I sent a friend to talk to her in 2015, but she rejected me. I tried again in 2016. I am a good guy, I told her we can be friends. One year later, she texted me, and we talked,” recalled Giannis.
