Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss approximately one to two weeks after sustaining a low-grade left groin strain, Shams Charania announced
The injury, which occurred earlier this week, prompted additional testing on Tuesday.
An MRI was scheduled, and it delivered what team personnel are describing as a “positive outcome.”
Antetokounmpo’s absence is a significant blow for Milwaukee, which continues to rely heavily on the two-time MVP’s production.
He is currently the only player in the NBA averaging at least 30 points and 10 rebounds per game, anchoring both the Bucks’ offense and their identity at both ends of the floor.
The Bucks are expected to take a cautious approach with Antetokounmpo’s recovery, prioritizing long-term health as the team pushes toward the stretch run of the regular season.
A low-grade strain is considered one of the mildest classifications of groin injuries, and the current timeline suggests the team is optimistic he’ll return without lingering issues.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was forced to an early exit with 3:03 remaining in the second quarter of Monday’s game and did not return to the court.
