Nikola Jokic has avoided a serious left knee injury, first reported by Serbian outlet Meridian Sport.
In his report, Djordje Matic cites positive reactions from sources close to Denver about the setback suffered by the 30-year-old Serbian superstar of the Denver Nuggets in the last play of the first half of Monday’s game versus the Miami Heat in Kaseya Center.
Jokic hyperextended his knee after teammate Spencer Jones backstepped on his foot. He fell to the floor and grabbed his knee. Upon immediate assistance by the medical staff, he limped to the locker room. He was initially labeled as questionable to return but was eventually ruled out of the second half.
Jokic out at least four weeks
The offical confirmation of the left knee hyperextension came from the Denver Nuggets, as Jokic is set to be re-evaluated in four weeks.
