Dennis Schroder has played for ten different NBA franchises and traded on seven occasions since entering the league as the 17th overall draft pick in 2013. With his current team, the Sacramento Kings, considering their options ahead of the trade deadline on February 5, the 32-year-old German point guard can be on the move again.
After Friday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Rocket Arena, Schroder was asked to share on the possible impact of trade rumors on the Kings players.
“Like I always say, I don’t give a f–k about that. At the end of the day, I enjoy every single day being in the NBA. Every single day, I don’t try to take it for granted. Everybody else in the locker room is just going to play. Nothing is going to change, really. They got the same salary. Of course, you get new teammates when something happens, a new organization, but at the end of the day, you are still one of 400 people in the NBA,” the Braunschweig native described his approach.
Tallying 21 points over 31:08 off the bench, Schroder was unable to prevent the Kings from falling to 12-34 in the 2025-26 Regular Season, nine games away from the Western Conference’s Play-In zone. Meanwhile, Lithuanian Domantas Sabonis went from a reserve role to starting the second half en route to a 24-point, 16-rebound double-double.
“Great energy. That’s what we need him to do. Be successful, pushing the pace, getting stops on the defensive end. On the block, he’s a force, and he needs to do that every night, and that’s going to give us a chance, when he’s playing that aggressively, to win basketball games,” said Schroder.
Facing the Cavs opened a six-game road trip, which continues on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons in Little Caesars Arena.
