The Chicago Bulls are trading for Guerschon Yabusele and intend to keep the 30-year-old forward.

The New York Knicks secured the services of Dalen Terry in exchange for the French big, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. Fellow insider Ian Begley later confirmed the intentions of the Bulls to retain the newcomer on their roster.

A former EuroLeague champion with Real Madrid, Yabusele was considering his options over recent weeks, including a midseason return to Europe’s premier club competition, but being projected for a significant role with the Bulls is keeping him in the league based in North America. Furthermore, he has a guaranteed contract for the 2025-26 season and a player option worth approximately 5.8 million dollars for the 2026-27 season.

After trading away Montenegrin center Nikola Vucevic, the Lithuanian executive vice president of basketball operations, Arturas Karnisovas, was seeking reinforcement in the big positions and found a solution in Yabusele.

The native of Dreux has made his way to 201 NBA games, spread between a spell with the Boston Celtics over the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, to his return with the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2024-25 campaign, and starting this season at the Knicks. Playing in 41 games of the 2025-26 Regular Season under the guidance of Mike Brown, he tallied 2.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.2 blocks, besides capturing the Emirates NBA Cup 2025 title.

From 2021 to 2024, he was a Madrid player, increasing his EuroLeague games total to 124, following 32 appearances with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.

Suiting up for France, his international efforts are highlighted by silver medals in the Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and in the EuroBasket 2022.
