In a stunning announcement by the NBA, Damian Lillard has been named to the eight-player field for the annual State Farm 3-Point Contest.

The 35-year-old Portland Trail Blazers point guard has not played this season and is expected to remain sidelined for the remainder of the 2025-26 regular season due to a torn left Achilles tendon. Despite the injury, he is aiming to become only the third player to win the event three times, joining legends Larry Bird and Craig Hodges.

Per the press release: “The NBA today announced the field for the 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.  The competition is the first event of NBA All-Star Saturday, which tips off at 5 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

The eight-player field, revealed on NBC, is as follows:

The State Farm 3-Point Contest features five 2026 NBA All-Stars: Booker, Maxey, Mitchell, Murray and Powell.

The field also includes two former State Farm 3-Point Contest winners, Booker (2018) and two-time champion Lillard (2023 and 2024). Lillard, a nine-time NBA All-Star, can match the record of three titles, shared by Larry Bird and Craig Hodges.

Four players will make their State Farm 3-Point Contest debuts: Knueppel, Maxey, Murray and Portis. Knueppel can become the first rookie to win the event.

In the two-round contest, players attempt to score as many points as possible from multiple 3-point locations within 70 seconds. The top three scorers from the first round advance to the championship round, where the highest score determines the winner.”

Finalizing the Saturday schedule at Intuit Dome, the league previously confirmed Carter Bryant, Jaxson Hayes, Keshad Johnson, and Jase Richardson for the AT&T Slam Dunk contest.

Additionally, four teams of three were announced for the Kia Shooting Stars. Team All-Star features Scottie Barnes, Chet Holmgren, and Richard Hamilton; Team Cameron includes Jalen Johnson, Kon Knueppel, and Corey Maggette; Team Harper spans generations with Dylan Harper, Ron Harper Jr., and their father, Ron Harper Sr.; and Team Knicks consists of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Allan Houston.
