The San Antonio Spurs and forward Jeremy Sochan have agreed to part ways, allowing the 2023 All-Rookie Team member to become an unrestricted free agent, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Sochan is expected to draw interest from multiple teams and will soon begin evaluating his options on the open market.

Sochan, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, showed early promise during his tenure in San Antonio. He earned All-Rookie honors in 2023 and was selected to the Rising Stars team in each of his first two seasons, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s intriguing young forwards.

Despite flashes of versatility and defensive upside, Sochan and the Spurs explored potential trade scenarios ahead of the last NBA trade deadline in an effort to find a better fit and expanded opportunity for the 21-year-old. Ultimately, both sides agreed that a release would provide the clearest path forward.
