San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox has been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. Fox will join USA Stripes, while Miami Heat guard Norman Powell, with Jamaican roots, moves from USA Stripes to Team World.
Fox joins teammate Victor Wembanyama (World) and head coach Mitch Johnson (USA Stripes) in the All-Star festivities. Giannis, sidelined with a right calf strain, was voted a starter for Team World, marking his 10th All-Star selection.
This marks Fox’s second All-Star selection and first since 2022-23. In his ninth NBA season, he’s averaging 19.4 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game over 45 contests. Fox recently earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Emirates NBA Cup 2025, helping the Spurs reach the championship game.
The 75th NBA All-Star Game tips off Sunday, Feb. 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, with a round-robin mini-tournament featuring USA Stars, USA Stripes, and World teams in four 12-minute games.
