Scoot Henderson scored 31 points and the Portland Trail Blazers got the 106-103 victory over San Antonio to even their Western Conference playoff series at one game apiece, after Victor Wembanyana got injured.
The French star was diagnosed with a concussion after he fell on the court face-first when he was fouled by Jrue Holiday and his jaw slammed into the floor.
He did not return after the injury in the second quarter and entered the NBA’s concussion protocol, which means he could miss multiple games.
“I just know he has a concussion and he’s in the protocol,” Spurs coach Mitch Johnson after the game. “We’ll obviously take the proper and appropriate steps.”
Still the Spurs build a 14-point lead early in the fourth quarter before the Blazers made their comeback and steal the game at the end.
Jrue Holiday had 16 points and nine assists, while Israeli star Deni Avdija scored 14 and Williams finished with 11.
Stephon Castle led the Spurs with 18 points and De’Aaron Fox added 17.
