The NBA announced on Wednesday that New Orleans Pelicans center DeAndre Jordan has been named the 2025-26 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year.
The prestigious honor, which has been presented annually since the 2012-13 season, recognizes the player deemed the league’s best teammate based on criteria of selfless play, leadership as a mentor, and dedication to the team as a role model.
Jordan’s selection confirms his veteran presence, as he appeared in only 12 games for the Pelicans this season. Despite the limited on-court role, both his teammates and interim head coach James Borrego frequently praised his immense impact on the development of the franchise’s young roster.

Succeeding Stephen Curry, who took home the trophy in the 2024-25 season, he also demanded a shift in the award’s recent history, snapping a seven-year streak of point guards winning the honor.
The winner is determined by a voting process between the players themselves rather than media members. A panel of league executives first selects 12 finalists, six from each conference, and current NBA players then cast their votes using a weighted point system.
Jordan narrowly secured the top spot with 1,445 points, just edging out Jrue Holiday, who finished with 1,437 points. Packing 66 first-place votes to Holiday’s 39, the race remained close due to strong support for the Portland Trail Blazers guard across the remaining ballot slots.
Rounding out the top of the voting results were Jeff Green of the Houston Rockets and Garrett Temple of the Toronto Raptors. Other finalists included Jalen Brunson, Jayson Tatum, and De’Aaron Fox.
