Bogdan Bogdanovic is reportedly headed for NBA free agency after the Los Angeles Clippers decided not to exercise their team option on the Serbian guard.
According to Jake Fischer, the Clippers will pick up Brook Lopez’s $9.2 million team option with the intention of keeping the veteran center. However, the franchise will decline the options on both Bogdanovic and Nicolas Batum, making them unrestricted free agents.
The decision allows Bogdanovic to test free agency, opening the door to what could become one of the more intriguing storylines of the offseason.
Among the teams previously linked with Bogdanovic are the Denver Nuggets, who could reunite the Serbian captain with Nikola Jokic.
Of course, in case he returns to Europe, he will be a hot commodity for all EuroLeague contenders.
As for former French national team captain Nicolas Batum, who is already 37 years old, after a glorious career both in the NBA and in the national team competitions, where he won, among other things, two Olympic silver medals and a Eurobasket gold, retirement seems to be a likely scenario.
