For the first time in five seasons, the NBA will not be coming to the Middle East

The NBA will not hold preseason games in Abu Dhabi or anywhere else in the Middle East this year, ESPN reports.

In the past four seasons, several NBA teams visited Abu Dhabi to play some of their preparatory games, but this year we will not see that. The reason is the war between the USA and Iran, as well as other conflicts in the Middle East.

The NBA never officially announced that games would be played in the Middle East this year, but ESPN reports that there were discussions with the executives of the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, and Washington Wizards.

One option was to play games in Doha, Qatar, or to have one game each in Abu Dhabi and Doha, but none of that will happen in the end.
