Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards has been ordered to pay $14,000 per month in child support to his former partner, Alexandria Descroches, following a court ruling obtained by TMZ on Thursday.
The recent legal decision created a significant increase from the initial baseline amount of approximately $3,200 per month. According to the court documents, the financial adjustment was calculated based on the NBA guard’s substantial monthly income, which currently nears $4.8 million. Descroches, who is earning about $1,016 monthly, testified during the proceedings that she intends to complete her college education to secure a better future for their child.
The judicial filings highlighted Edwards’ significant personal monthly expenditures, listing $31,000 on food, $70,000 on entertainment, and $30,000 on vacations. The judge also ordered the four-time NBA All-Star to secure a $2.6 million life insurance policy naming Descroches as the primary beneficiary, while additionally covering her legal fees exceeding $21,000. Edwards and Descroches share a son named Amir, who was born in 2023. Under oath, the 25-year-old shooting guard admitted that he has never met his son in person and is currently not pursuing any official parenting time.
Beyond these headlines, the Atlanta native remains one of the premier talents globally, fresh off leading the Wolves to the Western Conference Semifinals of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, presented by Google, and starring for Team USA. Since being selected as the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, presented by State Farm, out of Georgia, he has rapidly ascended to global stardom.
